- Method 1: Accessing another Mailbox in Outlook on a Browser (Recommended)
- Method 2: Accessing another Mailbox in the Outlook Desktop App
*you must have permission to access the email in question before you're able to access it through either of the methods below.*
Method 1: Accessing another Mailbox in Outlook on a Browser (Recommended)
- This is the recommend method because when too many high volume mailboxes are opened on the Outlook app, you may notice slower/reduced performance from the app
- Open Outlook on your preferred browser
- Click on the account manager in the top right corner of Outlook
- Click on the "open another mailbox" button
- In the pop up window, search for the email you wish to access and select it. (although many emails may appear in the search, you will not be able to access these unless proper permissions are given.)
- Clicking Open will open a new tab with the mailbox of the email account you're trying to access.
- Once the new tab is opened, you can create a bookmark for it for quicker access in the future
- Click the star in the top right corner
- Change the name to something you can easily identify
- Click Done
- The bookmark to the new mailbox will now appear in the bookmark bar.
Method 2: Accessing another Mailbox in the Outlook Desktop App
- Once permissions have been applied to access the other mailbox, the Outlook Desktop app will auto update within the day and the additional mailbox should be viewable on the left hand side of the Outlook Desktop App.
- It is still recommended to use Method 1 as you may notice reduced performance from the Desktop App when trying to look through multiple mailboxes.
