Below is a short guide on how to access and adjust common audio settings in the 3CX Windows Desktop App.

For most users, no changes are required. However, if you use multiple audio devices (speakers, wired/wireless headset, webcam microphones, etc) you may want to review the following:

  • Where your ringtone plays
  • Which device you want to talk through (microphone)
  • Which device you want to listen through (speaker/headset)
  • Your microphone sensitivity (microphone gain)

How to Access Audio Settings in 3CX Windows Desktop App

  • Open your 3CX Desktop App
  • Click on the wrench icon in the bottom left corner
  • Click on Audio Options
  • This will open the audio settings where relevant adjustments can be made.

Audio Options Explained

  • Ringer: where the call will ring to (eg headset, PC speaker, USB speakers)
  • Speaker: where the audio from the call is coming in (default or specific headset is recommended)
  • Microphone: what device is used as a microphone (default or specific headset is recommended)
  • Microphone Gain: boost the audio input so can be turned up if you speak quietly, but turning up too high may risk background audio from being picked up.
